Post Traumatic Growth can be experienced when a great loss, death of a loved one, illness, disease,rape, war, or other traumatic event occurs in a person’s life. Post Traumatic Growth, which will be referred to as PTG for the remainder of this writing, is not an unrealistic happiness when traumatic or painful events happen. What does happen to many people who go through life changing events such as those mentioned above is any number of reflective thoughts and a renewed appreciation and meaning in life. Resilience is often a term associated with PTG. Some people find ways to help others through the same experiences. Other people review their priorities such as family, work, and their spiritual relationships. Still others find that although their life has changed and adjustments must be made life is still very precious.
